ImpulseRC Helix Fairing

ImpulseRC Helix Fairing

This is the fairing that I run on all my Helixes. I had a problem with the stock fairings for a couple of reasons: 1. they only came in 19x19mm mounting holes. Modern motors are moving towards 16x16 mounting patterns, and every one of my quads have 16x16 motors on them. I figured that it would be better to have 16x16 as for 16x16 motors you can use 4 screws, and 16x19 motors you can still mount with 2 screws (which was the case for the stock fairings anyway). The rationale for this is just so 100% of motors can be used with this fairing. 2. the stock fairings that come with the helix are quite small. Anything above a 30A ESC will have trouble fitting. Running the Aikon AK32 35A 6S ESCs meant that they were about 2mm too wide for the stock fairings. These 3d printed ones will fit any ESC for a 5". The design of these fairings also make them very versatile. They can be used for quick change, with holes on the sides of the fairing so you don't have to desolder ESC wires if you wanted to change out a fairing. Of course, the original center hole still exists for those who want to use them. There are 2 versions for use. The 16x16 includes 16x16 mounting holes, and can be used with any motor. However, if for any reason you don't want to use the holes on the fairings (if you don't have longer screws) there is also the 'Universal Helix Fairing' without screw holes all together. This is designed to mount with the one screw that goes through the arm attaching it to the plates, and also with a zip tie towards the outside of the arm to hold it in place.
