*****SEE UPDATE***** at foot of this section! PLEASE POST YOUR MAKES I would love to see them, thanks. My first attempt at making storage case for the tiny Infiray P2 Pro thermal imager was ok (see https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5935361). However I soon discovered it was a real nuisance having to remove the P2 body from the storage case each time I wanted to use it. Also, the imager front lens is very vulnerable to scratches or finger marks whilst in use on the iPhone or iPad and whilst handling the naked camera. Especially so if laying phone on a surface with lens side face down. So I have evolved this new arrangement, which is designed to be always left on the imager body. It provides good protection whilst it is in use or in storage (even whilst in the toolbox?) It incorporates a deep front face to recess the lens by about 5mm, thus reducing the chance of scratches or finger marks occurring whilst camera is in use. I also added a tethered lens cap and phone connector cover. The whole assembly of case front, case rear, lens cap and connector protection cover is a single component print in place. It must be made with a flexible but durable filament like TPU. I used a bright colour so as to easily spot the device if dropped in grass or in tool box etc. The lens cap and front rear tethers are carefully designed such that when it’s all closed up, the back cannot accidentally pop open as the tether strings hold it all together very nicely. The imager (though good value at £219) is just too expensive to risk loss or damage. The original Infiray tiny drawstring bag it comes with just doesn’t work for me. I am very pleased with the way this cover has turned out. I also designed a minimal sized TPU skin box (<10mm thick) to safely store the macro lens in (only applicable to P2 Pro version). I find I rarely use the macro lens in practice, hence why it is a separate skin case. The two cases could easily be stuck together if so required. Obviously to use the magnetic macro lens, the main body would have to be removed from its protective case also. This is a TPU skin storage case for the tiny Infiray P2 Pro. The small bag it came with offers little protection for this precious superb little device, so I designed my own. Mine is the Apple iOS lightning connector version camera body which is 31mm wide. ******* UPDATE EDIT CAUTION****** November 2023 Please note that I just today learned that the Android P2 Pro cam body is apparently surprisingly smaller at ~27mm wide! So this case design would be way too big! Maybe it could be scaled down in the slicer? Just guessing but 10-12% X and Y reduction might work? Not tried it as don’t have the Android version cam here. My apologies to anyone who previously tried to make this for the Android P2 USB C cam. Please check your cam body width before making this case! Please ignore the reference to USBC in the V7 file name!! UPDATE 6th April 23...I have tweaked the P2 skin (several iterations!). Please now use the V7 iteration file which should now be the best one. I have added a lens cap holder recess on the rear, so as to prevent the tethered cap from possible dangling in front of the lens whilst the P2 is in use. I also micro tweaked the whole thing to make it snap together even better than the V4 did. The only down side of this is it now needs supports adding to enable the lens cap holder recess floor to print OK. (If you are really good at bridging, maybe it would work without supports? I didn't try this). Any feedback comments on the project would be welcome. Thanks and enjoy.. Peter.
