Ingress Badge

Ingress Badge

thingiverse

I have included the f3d file to make it completely customisable for Ingress players There are two main sketches to edit under lanyard: 1. Agent Name 2. Agent Faction For info, the Ingress font is Coda, you will need to download this and install it if you want the badge to match this font. I also had a lot of problems printing in this font with raised text, the best solution i found for a 0.4mm nozzle was to keep the font size at 9, any smaller and you start to lose lines all over the place, even with thin walls on it was a nightmare. The embossed text was not as much of a problem, but it can look a little untidy in places. Export and check it carefully, especially the raised text, in your slicer before you print. At 0.15 a bed of 6 takes about 13hrs to print I set a personal width limit of 75mm to stop it looking stupid, if the agent name was too long and did not fit, i abbreviated the name and added a * to the end of the name, but its your call obviously. To change the width of the badge, in F360, right click the Base sketch and show dimensions, adjust the default 70mm width to what you want, the whole badge should scale accordingly, if it doesn't, then shout annoyingly at it and fix it, im not proficient in F360 and i gave it my best shot. It may well be overdimensioned, but meh - thats how i did it and it worked for me! The badge has two cut outs at the top, one for a lanyard the other for a carribina to clip onto a bag or whatever. The Level section has two areas which are designed to be punch outs, that way you only have to print one for an Agent and as they progress they can punch out the appropriate level. For those mad enough to recurse more than once, they can do it up to 10 times, then they should officially be certified. Print in the appropriate colour (blue/green) - i used filaprints' pastel blue and pastel green - or whatever you like! Hope you like it, post comments and feed back below or even suggestions on how to improve, it says version2 but its gone through about 40 iterations to get here. Enjoy
