Innovative sliding center of gravity for electric drive rotorcraft. Electric power is provided by a free piston. Axial flux electric motors connect directly to an epicyclic reduction gearbox. A linear hydraulic actuator (not shown) provides sliding actuation. This innovation allows for greatly enhanced mission flexibility as a result of the wider CG range allowable.
