Inside Earth

Inside Earth is an exploded view of the different layers of earth. 3/4 of the earth are to be glued together as shown in the pictures while the remaining 1/4 of the earth is to remain as loose parts so that it can be put together and taken apart for easy explanation and enjoyment. This is meant to teach K-12 students the different layers of this lovely planet we live on. The pieces are separate to allow printing them in different colors and/or materials to help show the contrast between the layers. Due to the spherical design and the orientation of the pieces the earth should be printable with little to no supports. If printing parts as pre arranged groups (painting): Print: Earth grouped parts1.stl (x1) Earth grouped parts2.stl (x1) Earth Core.stl (x1) If printing parts separately (different materials / painting): Print: Crust.stl (x2) Crust_labled.stl (x2) Mantle.stl (x2) Mantle_labled.stl (x2) Outer_Core.stl (x2) Outer_Core_labled.stl (x2) Earth Core.stl (x1) Print Settings Printer: BIO KOSSEL ( KosselXL remix ) Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Infill: 20% Notes: Recommend printing with a skirt that is touching the pieces and is at least 5-10 loops to help adhesion to the bed since the majority of each part does not touch the bed. Post-Printing Finishing Use your preference of glue (I use 2 part epoxy but any glue designed for plastic will work and some might be much better for use around children) to glue 3/4 of the earth together (the parts are mostly interchangeable as long as all text faces outward and the core is in the center. IMPORTANT make sure you glue the pieces around the core, if you do not put the core in the center before gluing it WILL NOT FIT! If you are painting the earth vice printing in different materials I recommend painting each piece prior to gluing to ensure clean even edges.
