When installing my instant hot water tap, the nut that came with the unit was too thick given my counter thickness. Last time I installed one of these I cut the plastic spacer nut with a hack saw to get it to work. This is a redesigned version of the spacer nut that comes with the unit but reduces the size to 13mm.
