The Insta360 VR camera is likely the best low-cost mid-quality 360 camera currently available. The good news is that it's priced under $200, but the bad news is that it's designed to fit only on an iPhone 6 or 7, not my iPhone 5S. Fortunately, it can operate independently but lacks a way to hold it above your head, which is ideal for typical 360 video recording. This adapter allows a 1/4-20 nut to be pressed into its base, enabling the camera to be attached to any tripod or selfie stick desired. With a budget-friendly Windows 10 tablet (running Insta360 Studio) and the Insta360 on a selfie stick, I get a convenient mobile workflow without using an iPhone.
