The American Girl toy sewing machines were produced by Delta Specialty beginning in the early 1920s. The internal structure is a tin casting which has a tendency to break. This 3d model is designed to replace the original casting. Two designs are provided. 1. A complete framework 2. A split framework that can be used if the gear wheel on the hand crank cannot be removed. In both cases, a part of the casting is designed to be separated to allow it to be off-set in the sewing machine. This 'screw post' must be threaded on both ends with an M5 x 0.8 thread. Taps to cut the threads are inexpensive and available via Amazon and other sources. A separate 'screw post' file is also provided, in order to allow the user to print several in case of difficulty in creating the threads. I used a spare 3/8th inch drill bit to serve as the thread spool, which worked well. See YouTube video entitled "American Girl Toy Sewing Machine: Part 2" for further information.
