WORK IN PROGRESS -- design commentary is occurring in the #RepRap IRC channel on FreeNode and in this forum thread. This is an inverted cantilever delta 3D printer, in the same evolutionary tree as the RepRap GUS Simpson and Solidus Labs' Dogleg GDR. I thought I saw a unique way to solve the motion platform problems by adding a parallel linkage and moving the motor to the bottom link, where it's driven by a fixed gear/pulley system instead of a winch+spring or motor-at-the-top like the current approaches.
