Involute Gear with Adjustable Variables

Involute Gear with Adjustable Variables

An involute gear with variables that parametrically generate the tooth geometry for any regular involute gear under the sun. Basically ALL credit for this part goes to Steen Winther for his tutorial on involute gears. I simply took his tutorial and turned it into a part that will generate any gear you need, as long as you enter the correct values into the respective variables. These are the variables that you can adjust to make whatever gear you want: PITCH-CENTER-DIA - the diameter of the center of the gear teeth NUMBER-OF-TEETH - don't think I need to explain this one PRESSURE-ANGLE - set to 20, according to Steen that is typical CLEARANCE-GAP - the extra cutout into the gear beyond the end of the mating gear's teeth endpionts CLEARANCE-RADIUS - the fillet from the teeth to the clearance gap Note: I set the TOOTH-HEIGHT variable to be 3.9 times the offset from the master layout sketch so that the OD of the out most points of the gear teeth will not interfere with the low points of the maiting gear, with the clearance gap set to zero. Please let me know if I did something wrong so I can correct the part. I'm off to try to do the same for a bevel gear.....
