InWin 301 case feet - improved airflow

thingiverse

Replacement case feet for the InWin 301. The original 301's feet were only 15mm tall, while the bottom filter itself is 7 mm thick, leaving effectively only 8 mm of clearance for fresh air to be pulled in. These feet are 31 mm tall, resulting in 24 mm of clearance underneath the bottom filter, and leave an opening not only from the sides but also from the front and back, unlike the original design. The ability to secure the bottom filter in place is retained, and it still makes use of the original 4 screws and 4 rubber pieces that contact to the ground. GPU temperatures under load are now about 6 C lower than before and as a bonus, the case is now much easier to pick up. Has the downside that, because each foot is a single piece secured only in a single point (screw), each foot is now prone to rotate, although it's easy to adjust them back to align with the design of the case. Obligatory RGB pics included! The original feet's screws are hidden behind the rubber pieces Design with FreeCAD. Files in the STL, AMF and FreeCAD formats are available.
