IOT Mailbox Remix - for NodeMCU ESP8266

thingiverse

These are some remix files for AdaFruit's IOT mailbox, for use with a NodeMCU ESP8266. The original code doesn't work anymore since GMail changed their protocol, but I modified it to be an MQTT sensor / automation instead. I also added some LED notifications on the post from [@sb43201's version](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3067957). I also created a ventilated door, because I was able to put a temperature sensor inside. Software: - An MQTT setup of some sort - I'm using [Home Assistant](https://www.home-assistant.io) - if you don't know what this is, I suggest diving into this part first. - This [code from GitHub for the NodeMCU](https://github.com/sfgabe/custom_scripts/blob/master/mailbox_with_temp.ino) Hardware: - A [NodeMCU ESP8266](https://amzn.to/2GnMVx4) - A [DHT11 Temperature and Humidity Sensor](https://amzn.to/2Gczf6x) - Some [single LED's](https://amzn.to/2UQNyao) - A [micro USB board](https://amzn.to/2X9KN1e) if you want to plug it in at the base instead of having wires dangling from the back Video here: https://youtu.be/3Ll1o2whxw4
