The IoT Sentry is the Challenge submission for the Z-Wave Smart Home Maker Challenge that was sponsored by Make and Sigma Designs. The IoT Sentry is an indoor/outdoor monitoring solution based on off-the-shelf Z-Wave products. It is meant to integrate with a Z-Wave compatible gateway and use online service providers, such as IFTTT, to trigger actions. It was designed to house the following Z-Wave devices. - Fibaro Motion Sensor - Fibaro Flood Sensor - First Alert Smoke Detector PLA was used to print all of the pieces. The motion sensor is held in place within the motion sensor housing using the sensor’s included mounting screw. The face of the motion sensor is attached with a 3x20mm cap head screws. The motion sensor head unit is attached to the Sentry housing through the use of the sensor bar at the bottom and a nut/bolt passing through the two pieces. The smoke detector is attached within the housing using the detector’s included wall mounting bracket and screws. The leak detector currently is held in place at the bottom of the housing using wire as I need to still create a mounting bracket. The pole mount should be printed with at least 20% infill. It uses 1/4” bolts, washers, and nuts. The pole mount is meant to be mounted onto 1/2” EMT. If the housing is printed in two parts, I used an epoxy adhesive to attach the two pieces.
