Overview / Project Description This iPhone Guitar Mount is my submission for Stage 2 of the Autodesk ReMake Design by Capture competition. In Stage 1 I used Autodesk ReMake to create a 3D scan of my Seagul Acoustic Guitar. My goal was to create a quick release mounting bracket for my cell phone that would attach to the body of the guitar.  Guitar phone mounts exist, but I feel like they are generally clunky, ugly, or don't but your phone in a location that is easy to both see and interact with.  Plus, I already carry so many accessories and cables in my gig bag I don't really have space for more "junk". Using the Autodesk Remake scan data and Autodesk Fusion I was able to design a mount the seamlessly follows the contours of the guitar body, puts the phone in an easy to use location, and looks great even when its not in use. As a side note, I really love Fusion's built in rendering tools! Product Features - Spring Clamp Design allows the mount to fit quickly and snuggly on a range of guitar shapes (I have tested it on my Seagull Acoustic and thinner E- Acoustic). - Pivoting Phone Bracket folds up so allowing the installed mount to fit in your guitar case. - Magnetic Clasp prevents the phone bracket from falling when not in use. - Velcro Strap Mount on the back side to secure an iRig amplifier. - Free Standing Profile allows the mount to alternatively be used as a desktop phone stand - Designed to be assebled with cheap household materials: coat hanger, magnet, rubber bands. Have a larger phone? No Worries!  Rest the lower edge of the phone in the lower phone slot and secure your phone in place with a large rubber band.      Printing and Assembly Guidelines - Product shown was printed on a Makerbot 2 with PLA with breakaway supports turned ON (these parts require minor support removal). - Printed at LOW resolution but I did increase the number of shells to 4 for added stablity. - I printed all 3 parts on their sides (Z Direction normal to the front face of the guitar) - I used clear hair rubber bands to create the spring mechanism. - The design calls for 4mm diameter magnets, you can find them at hobby stores.  I didn't have any at the time of prototyping but i cut down fridge magnets and placed them in slots.
