iPhone 6 Case (2-Part)
thingiverse
This is a 2-part phone case I've designed in Solidworks 2018. I've included the files too, so feel free to play with them or remix the design directly if you want. The OuterShell is meant to be printed in some kind of TPU filament. I have experience with this type of design (check out my thingiverse page for previous designs). For this case, I recommend a flexible filament with a shore hardness around 90A. NinjaTek Semiflex was a good option before it got deprecated. I'm planning to use NinjaTek Cheetah, but if that doesn't work out, I'll switch to Semi-Flex. The InnerShell can be printed with PLA or ABS or any other hard plastic filament you prefer. You might be able to get away without supports on the middle section if your printer is properly tuned, as I've had success printing similar pieces in the past (check out my other Things for details). Any bad printing or support scarring will be hidden by the TPU OuterShell, so it may not even matter what path you choose, as long as you get a nice comfortable fit. I haven't printed this model yet myself. I'll update this post with pictures and descriptions of fit once I do. I'll also update the Solidworks files if I find the part needs adjustment. The OuterShell.stl part is actually a sufficient case in itself. If you like that shape but want it to be a little tighter on your phone, check out OuterShellOnly.stl.
