For my project, I decided to make something that I feel can combat a problem I know myself and others may have. The newer iPhones, starting from the iPhone 7, no longer have a headphone port installed in the phone. What Apple decided to do to combat that was one of two things; either make a set of headphones that have the lightning port connector already installed, or they give you a Lightning Port to 3.5 mm cable to connect your favorite set of headphones to the phone. I know for myself I’ve lost several of these pieces since they’ve been made. For that reason, I decided to try and mix two ideas into one: why not make a phone case to protect the phone as well as a small cutout to hold the headphone dongle. For the final design, I first took what would be the size of an OtterBox Defender case and used its dimensions to build my case. Then from there I created a cutout for the adapter to sit in. From there, I moved to the computer to create the model. Once that was completed, I moved to the prototype process.
