iPhone & Apple Watch Lightning Dock

Charging dock for Lightning compatible devices. The dock is an exact copy of Apple's iPhone Lightning Dock with the exception that it charges the iPhone and Apple Watch at the same time via Micro USB rather than a Lightning connector. There are two versions of this dock, one with a watch charger and one without. The Phone dock will charge and sync the phone via any USB port but the Phone & Watch dock will only charge both devices when connected to a 2.1A charging USB port (This limitation could probably be overcome by creating two voltage dividers for the watch charger's data+ and - lines). Print Settings Printer: Kossel Mini Resolution: 0.1mm Infill: 75% Notes: Sliced in Cura Docks printed in ColorFabb XT-CF20 @ 250°C Bottom Grip printed in NinjaFlex Snow @ 240°C Post-Printing Press an Apple Lightning to USB Cable into the top of the dock (I used an old damaged cable), remove the USB Type-A connector and solder the wires to the Micro USB Breakout Board. The breakout board can then be pressed into the bottom of the dock. Place Adhesive Backed Lead Weights into the side cavities on the dock's underside (Do not skip this step if you are making the Phone & Watch dock as it will tip over without the added weight!). For the Apple Watch dock remove the USB Type-A connector from your Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Cable and insert it into the watch dock. Bend 5mm Brass Tubing at 90° with a Tube Bender. Trim both sides of the tube using an X-ACTO knife making sure it's not so long as to tip the dock over due to the watch's weight. Run the watch charger's cable through the tube until the tube presses into the watch dock. Press the other side of the tube into the phone dock and flare the edge to fasten the tube in place. Solder the watch charger's wires to the micro USB breakout board. Secure the parts together with acrylate glue if needed. then glue the bottom grip to the underside of the dock.
