Adjustable MagSafe iPhone mount for continuity camera.

This is a simple phone mount for an iPhone, using the MagSafe charging puck. The angle of the phone can be adjusted, and the leg bracket can be angled to find a correct height for your monitor.

Hardware Needed

You will need two of each of the following:

M3 5.4mm x 2mm square nut

M3x25mm socket cap machine screw

Assembly instructions

Insert 1 M3 square nut into each slot on the monitor bracket, make sure the hole on the nut aligns with the screw hole in the print

Position the phone mount part so the screw holes line up; there should be enough tension that it doesn’t move freely out of position

The magsafe puck should face away from the bracket lip on the other side of the part, so that the phone’s rear camera points forwards when installed

Position the leg bracket so that the screw holes all line up, everything should be held in place now by friction

Insert a M3x25mm screw into each side of the mount and thread all the way into the square nut, but do not tighten all the way

Place the mount on your monitor and adjust so that the mount sits flush with the top of the monitor; it should not sag down in either direction.

Tighten the M3 screws to lock in the position

Push the MagSafe puck into place, with the outer magnetic side (white) facing away from the print. Once the alignment looks right for the cable you can place the part face down on a flat surface and apply downward pressure to fully set the puck into the print.

Printing Notes

The tolerences for the print are intentionally tight, friction between the three parts is doing most of the work keeping it adjusted.

If you have issues with fit a small file or some sandpaper should be all you need.

I was able to print these with no modification and the fit was good, but your experience may be different depending on machine and filament used.

The MagSafe opening is tight enough that you should not need to worry about it coming out.

If you want to remove the MagSafe puck push it out using the hole in the center of the mount.

My Printing Parameters

No supports needed

PETG recommended

0.3mm layer height

0.6mm nozzle
