IR_POD

IR_POD

thingiverse

This custom designed "IR_POD" is meant to hold 2 infrared LEDs and 1 infrared detector snugly as to ease the testing and later prototyping of a project im currently working on. The 2 round holes can hold most common sized LEDs and the rectangle in the middle is for holding a TSOP IR detector. The dimensions allow the IR LEDs light rays to be focused foward and outward and allows the IR detector to be sheilded from any outside rays of light. However the pod can be used for many other small projects involving any type of LEDs. INSTALLATION : The front of the pod is identified by having a completly flat surface. The back of the pod is identified by having small chamfers(indents) of about 0.2mm for the LEDs and 0.2mm-0.3mm for the detector which is also recessed a bit. Insert LEDs top first from the back and the detector face first from the back of the pod.(you may need to remove metal case that most TSOP IR detectors have) You may want to use a small amount of glue to keep the detector snug only after you have soldered and tested your pod with the new IR LEDs and TSOP detector. thats it!!! good luck tinkering!!! For those who are still pondering what the hell an IR_POD is i have created this illustration that shows just how the pod works once you install your infrareds and detector. Thank you for checking out my custom designs!! PLEASE LEAVE A SMALL TIP IF YOU USE THIS, better yet!! leave an idea for a custom design and ill make it reality ;) happy tippingPLUR
