IRIS+ long legs

IRIS+ long legs

thingiverse

These are top and bottom parts for custom length legs for 3DR IRIS+. You can use any length of 6 mm diameter aluminium, carbon fiber or wood rod as the leg itself and attach these top and bottom parts. Use epoxy (or some other glue) on both ends of the rods (actually, my aluminium rods are just pressed into the parts and are plenty tight.) I'm using an M3 threaded insert (like this one from McMaster-Carr) for holding the locking screw. You can do without if the fit is snug enough (or you can add a piece of tape or something to make the fit snug enough). Depending on the tolerances of your 3D printer, you might need to drill out the 6 mm hole (and possibly the 4 mm hole for the threaded insert). With the aluminium tubes, I'm using in the picture, each leg weighs in a 1.5 grams more than the stock long legs.
