There are plenty of cheap home irrigation kits out there utilizing 5x7mm hoses (5mm inner, 7 mm outer aka 1/4") with dozens of sprinklers, droppers etc. These kits are made for a water pressure of 5 bar up.

Utilizing such a kit with a smaller pump (e.g. caravan pump 12V 0.6 Bar) is not possible. The hose resistance is 6 Bar for 10 meters if you have a hose with 5 mm inner diameter. The sprinklers and droppers have an even smaller diameter. At the end of the day your pump overheats and you get only droplets in your pots.

In comparison: With 10mm diameter the resistance of a 10meter hose is 0.6 bar. This is in the capability of the former mentioned caravan pump.

My solution is to establish a 10mm 10meter water backbone from which my own T-pieces supply the original sprinklers/droppers.

I designed two kinds of T-Pieces:

Type 'Hose' provides a tube to attach a 5x7mm hose.

Type 'Dropper' provides a thread to directly attach a dropper cap of the original kit.

The current model is designed for a 10mm PVC hose as backbone (opens up to 13mm). You may change the diameter to your needs, since I included the STP files.

This is a work in progress.
I am struggling with this design. It may leak, it may pop hoses loose. Please give me feedback to improve.

Print instructions

Print with the two tubes on the heatbed.
No Supports needed.

I had good results with Prusament Jet-Black PETG, but bad results with Prusament Urban-Gray PETG.

Urban-Gray is in general a bit picky, the adhesion is bad and it comes out a bit "coarse".
