This is my take on the handrail clamp for the ISS. The basic design is quite simple. To me, the discriminator in this design comes in my incorporation of an internal lattice to lower the volume of build material yet maximize stiffness and the leaf springs that can be tuned to maximize clamping force and negate CTE effects as they relate to clamping. The clamp can be positioned and locked with one hand. Operation consists of sliding the body to the desired location along the handrail, aligning the latch and squeezing the assembly together. With a few tweaks this design can also be fabbed as an SLS part in metal, however, evacuating the interior of powder would have to be worked out.
