iStand (Corrected)
pinshape
The stand was designed from scratch using 123D software and centered around an iPhone 5c wrapped in a hard shell case from RedBubble. Initially, only the L-brackets were printed and separated to hold the phone in either landscape or portrait orientation. However, the new floor runner base now allows the brackets to be secured in various fixed positions. The farthest apart setting provides optimal stability for navigating apps and viewing videos in landscape mode. Moving one bracket inward is ideal for capturing macro shots or unboxing videos as it enables you to slide the phone so the lens remains uncovered. Positioning the brackets closest together grants access to the home button while using the phone in portrait orientation. Please note that the floor runner should be scaled up for tolerances. The included pictures show the stand printed at 1.05 (5%) which allowed the L-brackets a small amount of play within the rectangles. Depending on your printer and filament swelling or shrinkage, it's recommended to experiment with a fit that suits you best. The floor runner significantly reduces slipping and sliding on surfaces when combined with heavy infill. However, using rubber feet in the corners, a cut sheet of craft foam, double-sided foam tape, or even Velcro is still highly recommended for added stability. No apologies were given for the name.
