Ixalan-themed Pirate Chest Deck Box

Ixalan-themed Pirate Chest Deck Box

In honor of Magic: The Gathering's Ixalan block, I made a themed deck box! I'm all about that Ixalan pirate booty, so nothing seemed more appropriate than a good ol' fashioned iron-bound treasure chest, with some dinosaur claws and teeth for extra flavor. It's a bit more complicated than my previous Amonkhet-themed box, with 21 separate pieces and a more intricate "lock". Rotate the ship's wheel (which doubles as a 1-20 life counter) and pull the sword out to unlock your deck. It should hold up to a 100 card, single-sleeved EDH deck. I'll probably include a custom spacer as well in a bit so it holds a 60 card deck nice and snug, as well as a sideboard, but we'll see. I also plan on changing the sword out for a model of the actual Pirate's Cutlass. Check back in... a week? The prototype I made (and is pictured) is a bit more "mixed materials." I'd suggest grabbing leather straps (or fake leather) and real cloth for stuff like the flag or the claw, but I've included models so you can print the entire flag and "leather straps" if you want. Everything but the Flag and Chest Bottom will need some supports, but I tried to optimize it so no exposed surface will have supports touching it. For the hinges, you should use the rivet method. 1.75mm filament fits very well.
