Jacuzzi Flexa Tower jet knob replacement

The Jacuzzi Flexa Tower is a wonderful shower cubicle offering many functions, like hydromassage jets, steam bath and a fantastic water cascade. The 24 adjustable jets use round 'ring knobs' that allow the user to change the shape of the water jets. These rings have a tendency to split after a couple of years, possibly due to mineral build up. When they split they can't grip the nozzle sufficiently anymore. Enter the solution: print your own! This replacement part has been designed to be easily printable and offering the same function as the original part. However it's not an exact copy of the original part. Printing them in transparant PETG imho creates a nice looking replacement part that should be a lot stronger than the original. :-) Print Settings Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer: Ultimaker 2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0,10 mm Infill: 100% Notes: Printed with transparant REAL PETG at 240ºC nozzle temperature on a 30ºC heated bed using 3DLAC. Printed on an Ultimaker 2+ with a 0.4 mm nozzle. Filament used was REAL PETG. It's probably a bad idea to use PLA for this application because of the possible high temperatures in the shower cubicle. ABS should be a an option as well. Nozzle temp was 240ºC and heated bed 30ºC (with 3D-LAC spray). As you would need 24 of these I suggest printing more than one per go and print them consecutively to minimize threading when printing PETG. Be aware tolerances are tight (otherwise there isn't sufficient friction). You should print a test part to see if it fits well and adjust part XYZ sizes accordingly. Post-Printing PETG is a bit stringy but these are very easy to clean up in seconds using hot air or a knife. How I Designed This Used digital calipers to get measurements. Sketched out the easiest to print shape and entered that in 123D Design. STL was imported in Simplify3D that was used to create a print file. Printed a test version which led to appropriate adjustments for the exact friction needed. Used Simplify3D to create a final print file with four knobs that print consecutively.
