1/1800th scale Akatsuki Class Destroyer model. Certain elements not to scale. The Japanese Akatsuki class of destroyers were a subclass of the Fubuki class. Four Akatsuki destroyers were built, three were lost by the end of the war. The Akatsuki destroyers had some issues with stability, due to a large amount of armament compared to hull displacement. They were upgraded to compensate but sacrificed speed. They featured six 127mm guns and nine torpedo tubes as their primary armament. This model is designed and tested at 1/1800th scale, but up-scaling and down-scaling are possible. Since the model is optimized for 1/1800th scale, it is not ideal to print much larger versions due to a lack of detail. The gun barrels and mast have been enlarged. This is part of my collection of WWII warships, keep an eye out for more to come. If you have a specific request, message me and I'll bump it up my list. Update 04 Sep 19: Added boats and anchor chains. Significant adjustments for better detail and printability. Tested with PLA at .08mm layer height with .4mm nozzle.
