Hello folks , This is a Japanese style self watering mini pot that I designed to be placed on my desktop. After printing and completing the post-printing processing steps, you would need Geo-textile fabric or similar to place on top of the mesh plate as shown in the pics. The pot has an inbuilt water reservoir at the bottom. The mesh plate acts as a separator b/w the water reservoir and the soil. A Geo-textile fabric is placed on top of this mesh plate followed by activated charcoal. This is topped with soil mix. Also use a generic cotton thread to create wicks which pulls the water from the reservoir below up through the Geo-textile fabric and into the soil. (shown in pic) So whenever you water the planter, the excess flows down to the reservoir which is then slowly wicked out back to the soil. There is also a 1 mm hole at the base of the pot and acts like a pressure value. If you keep watering and the pressure in the reservoir increases, the water is drained out through this hole. I have put a lot of effort in designing and prototyping the pot. If you like my work and would like to support me, then please tip me so that I can go about designing different pots and be able to release them freely.
