1/1800th scale Yamato Class Battleship model. Certain elements not to scale. The Yamato-class battleships were built between 1937 and 1942. The lead ship of the class, Yamato, was commissioned just after the attack on Pearl Harbor and was present for the Battle of Midway. Only two Yamato-class battleships were completed as designed, while a third was converted into an aircraft carrier and two were never finished. The Yamato-class battleships hold the record for being the largest battleships ever constructed and also carrying the largest naval guns. Due to aircraft carriers and submarines making battleships obsolete, it is unlikely these records will ever be beaten. The ships carried a main battery of nine eighteen-inch guns with a secondary battery consisting of twelve six-inch guns and twelve five-inch guns. This is part of my collection of WWII warships, keep an eye out for more to come. If you have a specific request, message me and I'll bump it up my list. Update 14 Aug 19: Added anchor chains and floatplane rails. Adjustments for better printability. Tested with PLA at .1mm layer height with .4mm nozzle.
