Jar Jar Binks is a character from the Star Wars film saga. He's a Gungan living in the underwater city of Otoh Gunga, exiled by Boss Nass. His encounter with the two Jedi, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, turned his life upside down, and he became a general during the Battle of Naboo, before making an unlikely entry into the world of politics by becoming Senator Padmé Amidala's delegate. He replaced the Senator for a brief period in 22 BC. After Padmé Amidala's death, he became Senator for the Chommell sector (including Naboo), replacing her in 19 BC.
