JavaSCAD - Our little model generator framework
thingiverse
Having used OpenSCAD for months, we identified its limitations and decided to create a tool that aids in creating intricate models. Due to our expertise in Java development and the platform's cross-compatibility with OpenSCAD, we chose Java to develop JavaSCAD - a simple framework. This framework represents OpenSCAD primitive objects as Java objects and constructs more complex ones from them. Ongoing development for JavaSCAD includes improvements, added functionality, and integrating OpenSCAD's 2D capabilities (with the 3D features already implemented). We also uploaded a simple Lego brick creator example and featured a gothic shelf. Updates include new features like intersection, rounding, polyhedron, and POVRay output generation. Recent improvements involve alignment tweaks and fixing rotation issues. The source code is now available on GitHub under GNU GLP v2 license, and we welcome any questions or inquiries. A recent release added direct STL and colored PLY export functionality, as well as enhanced tagging capabilities.
