JBG saber hilt

JBG saber hilt

thingiverse

This is an original lightsaber hilt design by the kids. They created the design in TinkerCAD and sliced in cura. We tweaked the final product to have a minimum wall by trial and error. The model can be printed with no supports with the main grip hollow side up. You may need to flip in CURA. You will need to scale in CURA - we went to 268.89% - 190.5032 mm high Z. Features are a sequence of oval solids and holes, spiral spring holes, tri mark details, and offset solids. TinkerCAD has a nice mix of grip and stretch as well as numerical precise cad sizing. No lightsaber would be complete without a button and this one also has a hole for a d-ring. The main print alone is 8 hours+. The three parts stick together with superglue. Great job kids!
