This is a gear linkage bush for a wrangler. Being that most jeeps run the same running gear, it will probably also be suitable for Cherokee, Liberty, etc The dealership wanted $70 for one, and it would take 2 weeks to order in! Who makes a critical piece of a car out of crappy plastic? The forums are alive with discussions on why this should have been a recall. The real fix is to drill out the pin and replace it with a nut and bolt, but you have to disassemble the selector arm and it is a big and awkward job if you don't have a hoist. My design is better than the original as it has a handle/hole for a cable tie to hold it in position rather let have it drop out on the freeway once it wears. Print with 100% infill (solid), as it is a bush and will wear. This was modelled on the pin size that mine is currently. Depending on the wear on the pin, you may need to ream out the hole with a file or drill if your pin isn't as worn as mine is. I've included 2 bushes, the first bush is a push through design that I changed out after thinking about it failing and not wanting to take the risk. I've included it in case they might help fit another car. bush_3 is the final design I went with. Print some and keep them as spares in the glove box to help other owners broken down on the side of the road.
