Jet engine, Gas turbine

Jet engine, Gas turbine

thingiverse

This build is for all of us who just want to fiddle around and conduct experiments with gas turbines in a simple and affordable manner. Given that you either own or have access to a good quality hobby 3D-printer the build itself is a low cost project, especially when considering that the final result is a real functioning display jet engine. The Gas turbine pictured in this build is loosely based upon Kurt Shrecklings FD3/64 design and has a single stage radial compressor and a single stage axial turbine with a traditional annular combustion chamber fitted in-between. The engine in this build take full advantage of the fact that a jet engine is rather cool on the compressor side, were all parts are made of PLA. The hot turbine end of the engine is made of refractional cement, stainless steel and hybrid ceramic ball bearings which fulfill their high temperature potential. The engines fuel system is designed for gaseous butane/propane, LPG. For mor information please visit: http://amazingdiyprojects.com/ YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/amazingdiyprojects
