JG AURORA A6 / JG MAKER A6 - X STEPPER SUPPORT

Recently I bought a used JG AURORA A6. The A6 does a good job but the printer has some flaws. One of them is the way the X-Stepper is fixed to the carriage. The NEMA literally jumps off the carriage since it’s fixed with only two screws and both of them are definitely to short: only 2 mm thread (each) to fix the stepper. First thing you should do, is change them by longer ones. Since you probably won’t find the needed length (the thread in the NEMA housing is around 5,35 mm deep), you will need to “produce” your own screws cutting longer ones with a DREMEL o similar. But this will only provide two “better supporting” points ... there is still two missing for the job the printer has to do. Use this little support to stabilize the stepper. You will also need: 2 x Screws M3 - 20 mm 2 x Screws M3 - 10 mm 2 x M3 locking nuts (the housing diag = 6,3 mm) 4 x washers The NEMAs on my A6 run hot during the first 15 min, so my advice is NOT to print this support in PLA. I'm comfortable with ABS, but you can go for PETG if you are more familiar using this filament. If printing ABS, you need to enlarge the STL in your slicer before generating your gcode. Remember ABS shrinks. I’m actually using no name ABS and enlarged my samples to 100,7%. And finally, there is two STLs. One is named "NORMAL" and a second one is "CHAMFER" (0,5 mm). Use at your convenience. NOTE I: you will probably need to sand the support before placing it between the 8 mm guide and the stepper. This is OK, it won’t be much. Use fine sandpaper. NOTE II: after around 10 hours printing, unmount and check the support. Then mount again for better fitting. Have fun! O. By the way, if you are looking for a similar file for the predecessor Z-603S then visit this link: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4873264 2021.05.30: This should work with the A6 since the Y-stepper is on the left and there is plenty of space inside the frame, but to be honest, I did not try yet (I'm on it). Anyway if you go for this file, you need to unmount the X-NEMA to get the belt through the support.
