In 2004 Palisades Toys paid tribute to Jim Henson with this miniature replica of the Jim Henson Muppet banjo player from The Country Trio. The figure was packaged in a window box with pictures of Jim and all the main Muppet characters. The figure was sold at the Muppets, Music & Magic event at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City. Afterwards, it was offered for sale on the Palisades website....and I put it off too long and never got one. Nowadays they go for upwards of $250 -$300 Time to make my own! The Country Trio BTW, is a hillbilly band consisting of Muppet versions of Jim Henson, Frank Oz, and Jerry Nelson. Named for their performers, Jim played banjo, Frank played bass, and Jerry played guitar. (I am undecided if I am brave enough to do the guys. Just keep watching my thingverse account I guess) They were created for a 1972 appearance on The Perry Como Winter Show where they sang "You Don't Mess Around with Jim." The puppets appeared in the background of scenes from The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence, and featured in their own musical number that was cut from the final edit of the pilot (as seen in an archival photo slide). They also appeared on The Muppet Show, including episode 105 where they sang "I Want to Go to Morrow," episode 123 in a rendition of "In the Summertime", and sans Frank in episode 322 riding "A Four-Legged Friend". Additional songs proposed for the Trio to perform on The Muppet Show include "Johnny Be Good" [sic], "Another Saturday Night," "Good Old Mountain Dew," "Tiger By the Tail," "In the Summertime," and "You'll Never Get Away." For my Henson figure, I began with my Zoot kitbash https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5380026 which is a Shaggy body and Ben Franklin hair. It's a good base for the look. I redid the nose and added Quinventor's beard (added it a couple times actually, to help thicken it up and then added the moustache seperately!). I cut up Doctor Who's Jacket (I've been looking for an excuse to print that tennant figure for AGES- also I NEVER want to cut fringe again!) and found surprisingly PERFECT arms off a chicken accessory. Swapped the hands for my standard Maxx hands so he fits in more with my Muppets and actually made the hair LESS wild. That deep part and comb over on the receding hairline was REALLY disctinctive on Henson and I wanted to represent that here. Supports on the arms and head, the body can print on it's own, but might get a little stringy under the jacket. That's okay. It's all extra fringe. I've rarely been happier with a print. I did this one for me...but wanted to share it for all the other lovers, the dreamers and you.
