This is my contribution to meArm ( robotic arm ) Original files: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:360108 I have joined several and different original parts to simplify the design. Original parts were designed to use a laser cutter, but the 3D printed result is a bit cumbersome, and parts didnt fit the way they were supposed to do. In this design, the " box" of the arm is composed of 3 pieces. In addition, servos adjust into parts has been improved, and now servos fit perfectly. On the other hand, a "bearing" for the whole arm has been added to the original design. Last but not least, the clamp holder is a new idea. These changes produce a simpler plate set to be printed, and an easy way to assemble the arm. The full set is compound of: Plate_base, plate_claws,plate_sticks and plates_ladder. I will try to make a pdf with assembling instructions asap. Meanwhile, clean the bed and print the full set. How I Designed This My starting point was merely the set of stl parts in meArm v0.4 ( see link above ) Then I used OpenScad to join the "box" of meArm,. A new design produced thre single pieces. The base of the "box" was redesigned as a "bearing". I tried to keep the original parts when possible. I will probably end up redesigning all the parts. Parts to be redesigned are just a handful, and the task is not a difficult one, but now we have a final product. History 2017-August Modified SG90 servo parts ( The SG90 hole in the parts was too small ) Added file: AssemblyManual.pdf A full detailed handbook to drive you from the 3D plates to the model. 2017-May Version 0.1
