Joseph Smith Seer Stone Replica

Joseph Smith Seer Stone Replica

thingiverse

Mormon Prophet Joseph Smith Jr. placed a "seer stone" into a hat to translate the Book of Mormon. For more information, see the Ensign article on this - including a picture of the brown egg-shaped seer stone that was used to translate the Book of Mormon: https://www.lds.org/ensign/2015/10/joseph-the-seer?lang=eng. This particular replica is of one of the seer stones which belonged to Joseph Smith during the Nauvoo period in the 1840's. As such, this particular stone was not used to translate the Book of Mormon, but was just another stone that Joseph Smith possessed and looks interesting. The model size matches the size of the original - approximately the size of a U.S. quarter (25mm or ~1" in this model). Instructions Be sure to enable support structures when printing as the lower side needs support to print properly. You may want to print a larger copy if you're interested in more detail as opposed to the original size of the stone (try 2x).
