Joukowski Airfoils of Arbitrary Thickness

Joukowski Airfoils of Arbitrary Thickness

grabcad

These files use equation driven curves to generate perfect symmetric airfoil shapes of an arbitrary maximum thickness at a given chordwise position. The equations are derived by transformations of the Joukowski profile and are are extremely long; too long to fit in Solidworks's equation driven curve feature. Instead, I used MATLAB to simplify and explicitly write the symbolic function for prescribed values of p - 0.3, 0.35, 0.4 and 0.45. The parameter for absolute thickness as a fraction of chord length is still an input parameter. All you have to do is change the thickness ratio to whatever you want it to be, and create a scale feature to scale the model to your desired chord length.
