Pinecil Soldering Iron Handle

Pinecil Soldering Iron Handle

I find the Pinecil soldering iron does it's job well. With it's wide tip selection and easy temperature adjustment, it's now my preferred bench iron. I found the Pinecil extremely light and tiny in my hands. To address the size issue, I designed a handle grip that fits over the Pinecil body, increasing it's girth, so feeling better in the hand. The print was made in TPU with 100% in-fill. The extra weight from the printed handle improved the iron's "feel", too. There's also a flat edge in the print to allow the iron to sit upright on a table. I made in the end two (maximum) handle sizes, 24.2mm and 26mm. The fitted printed handle allows the Pinecil to sit comfortable in many soldering iron stands, as well. The designed handle is printed in a flexible TPU as a single piece part. With a little effort, the printed handle fits over the Pinecil. The handle will fit the Pinecil with or without the iron's blue silicon sleeve. I suspect that a print in a non-flexible filament will not be able to be slipped on without cracking. My print is made with TPU 1.75mm 3Dfillies black filament, with 0.2mm layer height and 100% infill on a PRUSA I3 MK3S printer. No printing rafts nor supports required. I hope you can find this print useful, too. Remember to leave me some feedback or even a tip to keep me enthused to make more of these drawings.
