JUMBO Mason Jar Gravity Pipe (remix)

thingiverse

This is a remix/design upgrade from Pipe Design's original pipe (see remix link). Note the size difference between the original 16 oz design and this 24 oz design. Things fixed/modded: The valve has keyed ends that fit the keyed stand openings eliminating the need for the original "mount" parts and screws. (no hardware required). The main body was modified to accept Danco brand #40 3/4" O.D. x 5/8" I.D. x 1/16" O-Rings (pn 96754, Lowe's Item # 198986) The main body has a slight taper to the "floor" of both sides to aid in water funneling. The main body UpStem receptacles reach the print bed to reduce some supports. The valve has been modified to allow water to flow directly through from the top to bottom UpStem, eliminating water collecting and flooding in the bowl holder. The stand components have been redesigned to support 24 oz Wide-Mouth Mason jars, giving the bong a 50% increase in volume, and to be stronger structurally with the side supports and to key the through-holes for the valve so it doesn't spin. The base was modified to support the side supports (Side Tall Stand.STL). The UpStem was modified to have a tapered interior so when printing vertical there is no overhang internally causing bad stringing. Added a 18 mm bowl holder (in addition to the original 14 mm holder) Printing hints: Print the mouth piece, valve, UpStem and Bowl holder parts on end with a wide brim. Print the Main body with supports from bed only. Print 2 x ea for the "Tall Stand", "Side Tall Stand" and TallUpStem parts. I printed 2 x the gasket.stl using TPU and install those before screwing in the jars tightly. Assembly notes: Install 4 x O-rings into Main Body first. Apply food grade silicon grease to the O-Rings and along the outer surface of the valve to eliminate water leaking. This highly depends on the tolerances of your printer output. If you have tight printing tolerances, the o-rings should eliminate any leaking with a light greasing. If you have more slop, then more grease may be required, or tweak your profile to a get better, tighter fit. One end of the valve has a slight chamfer to make it easier to slip through the main body and the installed o-rings, insert that chamfered end from the side of the main body that has the UpStem receptacles. When mounting the valve ends into the stand, ensure the opening in the valve on the end AWAY from the UpStem receptacles is facing down. (this is the end that the hole DOESN'T pass through from top to bottom) Install the Mouthpiece to that same end of the valve, Bowl holder to the opposite side nearest the UpStem receptacles.
