Junction box

Junction box

Hi! Summers are getting hotter each year. My wife asked me to install a ceiling fan in our bedroom. Problem: The light point was not at the right place, it had to slide by 1 meter. I checked my stock and got only 20mmx40mm cable ducting. Better than nothing. The junction boxes I got were awfull or simply not adapted and I didn't want to go to the local hardware store, just to buy one which I barely like. One day, I remembered my wife saying "a 3d printer, to do what?" It was time to show ;0) I took a look to Thingiverse object and was seduced by the dovetail designs. Simple, efficient and adapted to my project. I took Fusion 360 and begun to draw. 45 minutes later, I got the model your are actually watching. I showed it to my wife and explained her that it should be painted first. Her only answer was a kiss. No more "to do what?" or "It's easier to buy one". Not a victory, just my printer which is accepted as a member of the familly, now. I installed the ceiling fan as planned and the result is what I expected. My wife is happy. Then today, I'm sharing this model with you : The junction box which can directly accept cable ducting up to 20x40mm. It's easy to place (3 screws) and easy to close, thanks to the dovetail design. I hope you will enjoy this model as much as my wife enjoyed it.
