Jurassic Park Gate with LEGO® Base

Jurassic Park Gate with LEGO® Base

thingiverse

This is a remake of the 'Jurassic Park Gate "What do they have in there King Kong"' by Drussell19, entirely reimagined from scratch. I completely overhauled his original design to include intricate hinges, which necessitated an expansion of the entrance itself. A custom LEGO base was also created and I thoroughly sanitized the STL model to ensure seamless 3D printing capabilities since the original model refused to slice correctly. The final result is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece crafted specifically for my young nephew, an avid fan of all things Jurassic Park. Instructions: 3D Print every single part independently before reassembling as per the elaborated image provided. Initially, I needed to segment the base into three distinct sections because it was too massive to fit on my printer's platform; use the unifying piece to secure the base and affix it with (I employed hot-melt glue) for optimal adhesion. To add a realistic finish, I sprayed the pillars with a textured stone-effect spray paint, painted the gates themselves in rich brown hues, delicately hand-painted the inscription in bright yellow and bold red, and applied fine stone aggregate commonly used in model railway construction to mimic a meandering road traversing the gates. More elaborate images and additional information can be found on my personal website.
