Justicar Security Mech

Overview While BattleMechs were still new by the mid 25th century, the IndustrialMech had already been going strong for more than a century and as a result, it was used as a frame for one of the earliest SecurityMechs ever fielded - the Justicar. Sigourney Renault, ancestor of the founder of Renault-Prime Manufacturing a few centuries later, used new and more widely available weaponry from the Terran Hegemony as well as common IndustrialMech technology to design the Justicar. The blueprints were drawn up in 2464 just days after the original Wasp WSP-1 debuted. A single production model was completed the next year and was used in extensive testing in both urban and rural settings. After proving its effectiveness in both situations, it was officially produced for sale starting in 2465. The small single-line production center was destroyed during the opening salvos of the First Succession War and the remaining Justicars were all dismantled for their valuable fusion engines by the start of the Second. Its memory faded into obscurity by the start of the Third Succession War. Capabilities Weighing 25 tons, the Justicar was built to be an affordable solution for any world to bolster its security forces, with a single unit costing less than a million C-Bills. While six tons of Heavy Industrial armor did help against most conventional threats, other ‘Mechs armed with similar weapons were easily able to tear the Justicar apart, meaning it was often only used on worlds that did not expect to face actual BattleMech threats. A 100 Fusion engine gave the Justicar a top speed of 64.8 kilometers per hour, allowing it to quickly traverse urban environments to respond to threats as needed. This speed was not enough however to be as effective in rural environments, though it saw extensive use in both. A Machine Gun and SRM 2 launcher were both equipped in the right arm and both meant to give the Justicar non lethal options, though some customers saw fit to use live ammunition in both weapons. In order to engage threats at range like approaching combat vehicles or conventional fighters, the Justicar was given an LRM 5 launcher which was equipped in the left arm, with a ton of ammunition being stored in the left torso. A ton of dedicated SRM ammunition as well as a half ton of Machine Gun ammo were both stored in the right torso. Finally, a Small Laser was equipped near the wrist of the left arm, giving another lethal solution to close range threats. Deployment The Justicar was initially sold to the Terran Hegemony though only in small numbers as they were already ramping up full BattleMech production following successful early models like the Mackie, Orion and Archer. The Free Worlds League and Capellan Confederation both showed interest in the design but it proved to be most popular in several Periphery states, namely the Rim Worlds Republic and the Magistracy of Canopus. Numbers in the Periphery dwindled during the Reunification War but were replenished in the mid 2600s, only to see them disappear once again during the First Succession War. The last surviving known Justicar in existence was destroyed on Wasat near the end of the Second Succession War during a conflict between the Capellan Confederation and Free Worlds League.
