K'nex Polyhedra

K'nex Polyhedra

thingiverse

These are connectors for use with K'nex rods in order to construct some interesting polyhedra models. Printed in PLA, the rods should snap into place pretty easily, but be aware that you will not be able to reuse the connector many times before it loses its spring. I'm curious to know if they work any better in ABS -- let me know if you try it! Note that all the edges are the same length, so you can use any rod length you like. Rhombicosadodecahedron: 60 connectors, 120 rods Rhombic Dodecahedron: 6 of rhombicDodeca1, 8 of rhombicDodeca2, 24 rods Snub Dodecahedron: 60 connectors, 150 rods Rhombic Triacontahedron: 12 of rhombicTriaConta1, 20 of rhombicTriaConta2, 60 rods Vertex angles calculated via Great Stella, parts modeled in OpenSCAD (source included).
