Kallax Wood Dowel Shelf Bracket

Kallax Wood Dowel Shelf Bracket

We use these to make adjustable shelves for our Kallax, specifically for board games. The shelf brackets hold 3/8” wood dowels, and each dowel just drops into any pocket of the bracket. Offset front and back pockets allow for extra granularity when adjusting shelves. For our Kallax we use 13-inch dowels but they are a little loose. Add another 1/8” or so to the length if you want a tighter fit. It's easier to sand the dowel down a little than to add length back to it :-). Also included is a "thick" version of the shelf brackets that has a couple mm more support, in case your dowels are a little too short. We use 1mm thick nano tape to adhere the brackets. If you use thinner or thicker tape/adhesive, you will need to change the length of the dowels accordingly. The bevel edge points towards the front of the kallax. Use a spacer template of some kind (cardboard, paper, cardstock) against the bottom and edge of each shelf so your brackets will be even. You'll need four of these per Kallax cube: two on the cube sides near the front, and two on the cube sides near the back. **IMPORTANT: For each cube, print two of these for one side of each cube, and print two MIRRORED via your slicer program, for the opposite side of the cube. Be sure you install them with the angled sides towards the front of the cube (to assist when sliding games in).**
