KAON Rear Roof Shelf GME AE4705B/AW4704B Antenna Storage Clamps

thingiverse

These clamps will hold either a GME AE4705B or AW4704B (they can be purchased as a twin pack AE4705BTP) antenna onto the KAON Rear Roof Shelf so that it's out of the way and secured in place. They are designed to allow you to quickly but securely stow either of the antennas if you want to swap them out whilst out on the road. There's also a slot designed to hold the hex key that is required to undo the locking screw on the antenna's spring base. The clamps just bolts straight onto the holes that are already on the roof shelf so they're super quick to install and remove. Some non-3d printed parts are required but they should be easy to get from your local Bunnings (or similar hardware store): - 2x M5 x 10mm Socket Head Cap Screw, [from Bunnings](https://www.bunnings.com.au/pinnacle-m5-x-10mm-zinc-plated-socket-head-cap-screw-4-pack_p2310815) - 2x M5 hex nuts, [from Bunnings](https://www.bunnings.com.au/pinnacle-m5-zinc-plated-hex-nuts-20-pack_p2310912) - 2x M5 flat washer (optional), [from Bunnings](https://www.bunnings.com.au/pinnacle-m5-stainless-steel-flat-washer-12-pack_p0130532) - Non Slip Liner, [from Bunnings](https://www.bunnings.com.au/all-set-50-x-200cm-black-multipurpose-non-slip-liner_p2581058) (this can be substituted for anything that's relatively thin and grippy as it's used to keep the antennas from sliding sideways) - 12mm width x 150mm length velcro straps, [from ebay](https://www.ebay.com/itm/50-x-Reusable-Nylon-Strap-Hook-and-Loop-Cable-Black-Cord-Ties-Tidy-Organizer/352938159678?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649) (for exact size) or [from Bunnings](https://www.bunnings.com.au/velcro-brand-25mm-x-2m-black-reusable-wrap_p3960019) (cut these to size yourself) Putting it together, see the pictures attached for visual reference: 1. Clean up the 3D printed clamp with a file if you need to, to allow the velcro straps to easily pass through the slots 2. Cut the non slip liner to size: 18mm width x 47mm length and cut a hole as shown in the photo to allow access to the mounting bolt 3. Put some double sided tape onto the non slip liner piece as shown in the photo 4. Stick the non slip liner onto the inside of the clamp, making sure to align the hole that was previous cut to with the hole on the clamp for the bolt 5. Now attach the bolt and nut with optional flat washer, you can use the 3D printed bolt cap to cap off the protruding end of the bolt so that it doesn't scratch or catch on any of the gear you put on the roof shelf 6. Pass the velcro strap through the slot and loop it around to securely wrap around the clamp, this will keep the antenna in place and put some force on the non slip liner to stop the antenna from sliding sideways That's the whole clamp assembled, you'll need make two of these clamps then bolt them onto the 2nd and 5th hole (pay attention to the lip on the clamp, that faces outwards, and the optional washer should go on the top side of the shelf where the nut is) from the right side of the shelf to let you mount both the shorter AW4704B as well as the longer GME AE4705B.
