This connector screws on Katadyn BeFree water filter. Then, simply connect it in place of Source Storm or compatible mouthpiece of your hydration system, and you can filter lake or river water directly into your water bladder without even needing to take it out of your backpack or bag.

Be sure to print it using filament that can have contact with drinking water, or coat it with appropriate sealant. I take no responsibility for your health.

You need to add an o-ring. Read the Squirt Nozzle Hose Adapter thing for oring suggestions. I went to a local hardware store with printed item and asked for an oring for this, and the guy there just gave me one that fits so that's all I needed to know.

v1 has connectors taken directly from remixed things. v2 has threaded part cut to only contain thread, and Source connector part with added "lip" that pushes valve deeper for better flow. This makes v1 more compatible with different "compatible" items like PET bottles or quick connect water systems, but v2 better specifically for Katadyn + Source, at the cost of potentially not working at all with different stuff.

If anyone wants to remix further, here's Tinkercad link: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/hu9ARYTMDvC?sharecode=WLDrVZiwlmcW520rq_MkeeeOu619QEtghgzG5C4yhVg

This is a remix, but it's quite far removed from both of them, and I cut out what made them unique anyway ;) Inspired by https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4670475 but none of my slicers could make sense of that file.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Anycubic

Printer:

Photon

Rafts:

Yes

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

default

Infill:

100%

Filament: Creality ABS-Like

Notes:

On resin printer, prints well enough upright, with supports connecting to the edge and to the inside flat. Might require thin gasket because flat surface ends up not exactly flat - but it didn't for me. Standard hydraulic 3/4 inch gasket, as thin as you can find, works. 20mm one would work better but, surprisingly, was harder to find in my metric country.

Category: Sport & Outdoors
