Katana for iaido training

SUPER UPDATE : NO MORE GLUE! Now there are the clips and connectors files designed to print with a 0.4mm nozzle, and assemble the parts together. Replica of the Genbu Toryumon Koshira's katana, designed for iaido training or as decoration piece. The model is light and strong enough to trainning, but not to impact. You can download here 3 files: katana.zip contains all parts of the katana less the handguard tsuba.zip contains 4 models of handguard saya.zip contains 6 files to mount the scabard The pieces are divided on katana, tsuba and saya. These parts are respectively the sword, the scabbard and the handguard. Katana is made of: - 3 pieces of kami (blade) avaiable in 3 sizes (72, 65 and 60cm). - 2 pieces of tsuka (grip) - 1 piece of mekugi, a blade lock that is usually a round bamboo pin, but I do prefer to make rectagular for easy printing. I added texture to this part too. - 2 pieces of menuki (in 1 file) a decoration tied to the tsuka to make the grip better. - 1 piece of kashira, the pommel that fits on the end of tsuka but must be tied too. Mounting Katana: The tsuka includes the original parts made in wood and shark skin, but you will need a tsukaito (cotton or leather band) of 2.5 or 3 meters to make the tsukamaki (grip tie). As you can see in the photos, I used a cotton 1.2 cm band. My sugestion is to make the tsukamaki before mounting the blade and locks with mekugi. Likewise I suggest that the mekugi and blade are removed for eventual maintenance. Tsuba models: There are at the time of publication of this model 4 Tsuba models. I will make others with different arts ant types, compatible with this design and post them here in the future. If you buy the piece dont worry about this, you will have access to the new tsubas just downloading them in your link. Saya is made of: - 3 pieces of Saya E for the LEFT side of a right-handed samurai. It's the out side, were the first piece contains the arc to tie a band. - 3 pieces of Saya D for the RIGHT side of a right-handed samurai. It's the inner side. Mounting Saya: The saya is made of 6 parts that must be glued using glue or mass. I suggest that you write on each part if it's a LEFT or RIGHT part, because the middle parts, saya E2 and D2 can make you confuse later and mounting these parts inverse changes the shape of the saya. With the saya mounted you need ~ 2 meters of band to make the sageo (scabbard tie).
