This design uses silicon and vinyl construction. In today's market there are ball chairs and blowup furniture designed to exhibit variable flexibility by utilizing changes in thickness, manufactured to be tough and rugged enough to last for years. The design has 5 major components that are linked with adhesives, creating a stable structural seat. The back portion of the seat and the back rest are designed with numerous expandable segments that allow the seat to squeeze narrower or expand to fit various sized openings. The optional back rest shown in some views can be expanded to support the entire back, if the boot for the kayak will not be used. Without the backrest mounted, the seat will fit within the envelope and allow the boot to be used for water tight white water use. This design is created with a lip that wedges under and around the open portal and gets wedged into a fixed configuration by expanding the large balloon shaped bottom segment against the bottom of the Kayak. Many adjustments are possible by expanding or contracting the seat segments and heavy users can increase the pressure to accommodate there physique. In the close up I demonstrate the type of simple plastic quick couple air fittings needed for adjustments. I have included a picture of one example of an air-pump, many styles are on the market. There are some plastic air hose access lines that can be reached while seated that give control of the rear seat and back rest. Manufacture of this style seat can be done at less cost than many ridged designs, easily patched, and quickly adjusted. It is easily removable by deflating the components, the quick fitting shown in the close up have valves that open to reduce the pressure as well as pumping up the compartments. Exact fit and seat shape and thickness are dificult to design with some testing and tweaking. This design has all the elements to become a successful once the bugs are worked out.
