The Kayak seat was designed to be universal comfortable and also simplistic while still maintaining a good premium look. It is also modular meaning parts can easily be replaced or taken out to be cleaned. It consists mainly of a lightweight alumunium frame to which the padding for the seat is fastened to. The seat is adjustable to fit any kayak shape and is adjustable for the comfort of the user as well. Firstly the Feet of the frame are made of rubber suction cup feet which fit into a bearing pivot which allows the feet to pivot and adjust like a flexible joint in order to fit any kayak shape. The feet screw into the frame and the height can also be adjusted like this. Meaning the user has control on exactly how high the seat is or if needs to be at an angle or not. The rubber feet distribute the load and does not damage the kayak and also sticks and grips the kayak to prevent sliding. The back rest is also adjustable and has many height settings for user comfort. The padding for the seat is not directly in contact with the aluminium frame. Plastic(or composite) panels are designed to fit to the frame using plastic pipe clamps. The padding can then be fitted to the panels by using high strength and waterproof Velcro. The side padding also fits to the panels and side of kayak by Velcro. This means they are flexible and can change shape to fit any kayak. Also adding to fixing the seat to the kayak. This is also nice because you can replace or remove the padding easily without taking out the whole frame and seat. So it makes washing the padding more easy. The seat is also fastened to the kayak with adjustable straps that make sure the seat does not slide around in the kayak. The seat is lightweight, durable and easy to manufacture.
